Course Title: Management, Prevention & Control of Clostridium difficile (C.diff) infections
Who can attend this course?
NHS Nursing and healthcare assistants, Nursing Managers; Care Home Managers, Nurses and Carers working in Care Homes; Domiciliary Workers; Staff working in GP and Dentists; Domestics & Domestic Supervisors.
Training manuals and a certificate of attendance are provided to all course attendees.
Course Aim:
To gain knowledge of Clostridium difficile, and develop understanding of infection control measures to manage, prevent and control its spread.
Objectives:
By the end of the session delegates will be able to:
Understand development of C.difficile and its mode of transmission.
Identify patients at risk and develop measures to protect them.
Demonstrate an understanding of ‘SIGHT’ protocol for management and control of C.difficile.
Demonstrate effective infection control measures to prevent and control C.difficile.
