Course Aim:
To gain knowledge of MRSA and develop understanding of infection control measures to manage, prevent and control its spread.
Objectives:
By the end of the session delegates will be able to:
Understand the meaning of MRSA, its development and modes of transmission.
Identify patients at risk and develop measures to protect them.
Different screening criteria for MRSA.
Demonstrate how to swab for MRSA and interpret the laboratory results.
Demonstrate management of MRSA patients.
Demonstrate effective infection control measures to prevent and control MRSA.
