Courses can be customised to suit your needs for example, including your documentation into a course in order that trainees are using familiar and relevant documentation.

Course aims and objectives
- Educational aims - to appreciate the requirements of the DSE Regulations and understand the potential problems caused by DSE work; how they are caused and what can be done to rectify them.
- Objectives - to be able to carry out effective DSE assessments, correcting problems immediately or recording actions required and assessing priority for later rectification. To be able to answer queries from people being assessed.
- Target audience - personnel selected to carry out DSE assessment on fellow employees.
Course overview
Morning
- Formal classroom work
- Definitions and introduction - presentation.
- Health risks – presentation, questioning on experience, demonstrations of neutral position.
- Equipment adjustment and use - presentation, questioning, demonstration.
- Environment – presentation, questioning, demonstration.
- Software, task management, breaks – presentation.
- Exercises – presentation, demonstration.
Afternoon
- Practical work at workstation - trainees to use step by step guide and notes to set up workstation for each other in training room.
- Demonstration - move to office to discuss real situation and carry out assessment(s).

Course aims and objectives
- Educational aims - to appreciate the requirements of the Manual Handing Regulations; understand the potential problems caused by hazardous manual handling operations as far as reasonably practicable; to assess any Manual Handling operation that cannot be avoided; to reduce the risk of injury so far as is as reasonably practicable.
- Objectives - you will understand the basic principle of Manual Handling in the day to day working environment; you will understand how to carry out manual handing operations safely; you will be shown how to assess the load, the risk and accessories that may be required for the lift.
- Target audience – if you or your employees have to lift, lower, carry, push or pull loads, this course is for you.
