Course Overview

Our Fire Warden Training courses are delivered at your place of work by an experienced trainer and will give you the skills necessary to minimise the risk of fires happening in the workplace and the knowledge of all actions needed in the event of a fire.

Our Fire Warden Training can be customised to suit your requirements, for example, to take into account specific features of your premises or nature of business undertaken. We will ask you for a copy of your emergency plan and integrate this into the training materials.

Class sizes are usually between four and ten and for your peace of mind, all our trainers meet the ‘competent persons’ criteria as set out in Article 18(5) of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Many are former experienced Fire Brigade Officers, each with many years of service. Their experience allows them to go ‘off script’ where necessary to deal with questions relating to issues specific to your workplace.

A comprehensive booklet is provided to all candidates to support the Fire Warden Training syllabus and is particularly useful as an individual fire safety reference book for future use.

Who should attend Fire Warden Training?

Any organisation’s  Emergency Plan should identify key staff who have additional responsibilities in the case of a fire. These key staff are Fire Wardens and they should undertake proper training in order to fulfill their role. The person responsible for Fire Safety in an organisation should calculate how many wardens are required at your place of work. This depends on a range of factors including number of people, size of area, shift workers.  When calculating the number of  Fire Wardens required, employers must remember to allow adequate to cover for staff absence/lunch-breaks /holidays.

We are also able to offer Fire Warden refresher training should you and your organisation need it.  Please contact us for more information on refresher courses, costs and frequency of availability.
