First Aid at Work

First Aid at Work training

Our First Aid at Work training course will enable you to comply with The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 which require all employers including those with fewer than five employees to provide ‘adequate and appropriate’ first-aid cover.  As an employer, it is your duty to assess any first-aid requirements your business may have and, if your business has significant hazards and risks, this will probably include having  a member of staff who is a trained first-aider.

Worksafe UK’s First Aid at Work training course meets the criteria set out in the HSE principles of assessment for first aid training.

Qualification: First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 3 years.

Duration  Three days

We also deliver Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training.

It was refreshing to find a course where the material matched the verbal communication. Very clear information was provided.

First Aid at Work Training Course Overview

All employers including those with fewer than five employees have a legal requirement to provide ‘adequate and appropriate’ first-aid cover.  If your business has significant hazards and risks, this will probably include having  a member of staff who is a trained First-Aider.

Once you have established the need for a trained First-Aider, you will need to consider having a trained staff member available at all times including lunch breaks, holidays and staff absence.

On successful completion of this course, delegates will be awarded a First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 3 years. Before the certificate expires, First-Aiders will need to attend a re-qualification course. Once the certificate has expired, the First-Aider is no longer deemed to be a competent First-Aider.

The HSE guidance recommends attending a half-day annual refresher course during the three years of certification. This is not a mandatory requirement but a recommendation.

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
