Manual Handling

There are a number of flexible solutions we can offer you:

  • Our Manual Handling Awareness course is normally a two hour session which includes a practical lifting demonstration with delegate participation. More details can be seen on the Manual Handling Awareness tab.

  • Our Client Handling and Moving course is a four hour course that concentrates on Patient Handling and Moving as well as practical demonstrations. More detail is available by clicking the Client Handling and Moving tab.

  • Our Manual Handling Assessment service is where we will send in an assessor to carry out a detailed risk assessment which will highlight areas that need attention and make recommendations to help reduce the risk of injury and ensure a safe working environment for your team. Our Manual Handling Risk Assessments typically address:

  • The tasks being performed.

  • The individuals carrying out the manual handling operations.

  • The load(s) being moved in the manual handling operations.

  • The environment in which the manual handling operation is being conducted.

  • The equipment (if any) being used.

If there are any lifting and carrying activities presenting a significant risk, The regulations outline that the employer has a duty to implement controls. This where our Manual Handling Risk Assessors can help and offer guidance.

Our Patient Handling and Moving course (also known as Client Handling and Moving) is designed to educate staff members and carers that are faced with moving and lifting patients in Primary Care Trust or Residential Care environments.
